Believing in God’s Word and Spirit

Believing in God’s Word and Spirit lies at the heart of the Christian gospel. The Word of God reveals God’s character, will, and saving purpose through Jesus Christ. Scripture teaches that faith comes by hearing the Word, and that God’s Word is living, active, and authoritative in guiding belief and conduct. Through the gospel, believers trust that the Word became flesh in Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection bring salvation to all who believe. The Spirit of God works alongside the Word to bring it to life in the hearts of believers. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, reveals truth, and leads people into genuine faith.

According to the gospel, it is the Spirit who regenerates the believer, confirms their identity as a child of God, and empowers them to live in obedience and holiness. The Spirit does not replace the Word but illuminates it, helping believers understand, apply, and live out its truth. Together, belief in God’s Word and reliance on God’s Spirit form a unified foundation of Christian faith. The Word provides truth, direction, and authority, while the Spirit provides power, understanding, and transformation. According to the gospel, true faith is not merely intellectual agreement, but a living trust shaped by Scripture and sustained by the Spirit, producing a life that reflects Christ.

Kleinmond Pentecostal Church was founded by Clive Munongi, a young and energetic pastor from Zimbabwe who felt a clear calling to serve in Kleinmond. Obedient to God’s command, he left his wife and children and came to fulfil that calling. While working two jobs to support himself, he faithfully led a small congregation of just thirty people.

Today, the ministry is known as Kleinmond Pentecostal Church and has grown rapidly from thirty to one hundred and thirty members in just three months. The church continues to grow, touching lives and transforming the community through faith, service, and dedication.
